Natural Processes explores the line, texture and natural forces of the Irish landscape using topographic/ ordnance survey maps carved into plaster slabs (originally for ceramics) to print and emboss onto paper. Plaster from the slabs combine with the paint, becoming an integral element of the landscape narrative. The name of the series not only captures themes of the everchanging land, it was also for the natural progression of using existing resources to pursue another path of making.
